The LeMoyne Community Center Feed Programs

Our Nutrafit program is designed to ensure our campers and students receive nutritious meals, along with plenty of exercise. This program offers an educational component which teaches and encourages healthy eating habits. We use a proactive approach to introduce new fruits and vegetables in a fun, engaging, and non-threatening way which often involves a hands-on cooking class.

Our Nutrafit Mobile Summer Feed program serves nutritious lunches to youth up to age 18 throughout Washington County and runs for ten weeks from June through August. Depending on community participation we operate in 15 - 20 sites each year and serve around 18,000 - 20,000 meals over the summer. This program uses the same educational approach as our Nutrafit Program to teach healthy eating. It should be noted that all of this is done utilizing the invaluable services of community volunteers local to each site.

Our Community Mobile Feed program launched in September 2024. This program provides direct access to nutritious food for individuals and families facing food insecurity. Once per week, we distribute food at locations around Washington County that includes fresh produce, proteins, and pantry staples to help families maintain balanced diets. With a commitment to dignity and respect, we ensure that community members have reliable access to healthy food options.

Our Lil’ Bitez program began in April 2024. The Lil’ Bitez Program supports our Homework and More students by providing essential, shelf-stable food items every Thursday. Each week, participating students receive a carefully curated bag of non-perishable items to bring home, ensuring they have access to nutritious food throughout the weekend. Lil’ Bitez is one of the many ways we work to support our community’s youth. By providing nutritious, non-perishable food, we’re helping students stay nourished and focused, ready to learn and grow.
