American Girl Book Club
In this program, girls will follow a curriculum learning about cooking and storytelling of other cultures.
Homework and More started in 2009 and operates starting in September until May, Monday thru Thursday, as an after-school program from 2:30 to 5:30. This program serves youth in grades K through 12 from various local school districts in Washington County.
Education is our top priority, and we emphasize the completion of homework assignments utilizing the assistance of teachers, college students, and volunteers. We also maintain contact with designated personnel from the children’s schools to monitor student needs and progress.
In addition to help with school work, Homework and More offers a variety of enrichment classes to further supplement student education. Enrichment classes may include book clubs, tennis lessons, STEAM classes, African Drumming, life skills, Girl Scouts, cooking classes, sports, recreation, and much more. Students also receive a nutritious dinner and a snack every day.
Feedback from the schools has shown that our program has helped to improve the academic performance of the participating students.
